Entrego Liability and Insurance

All packages that are shipped using Entrego must be insured according to their policy. For packages that cost up to ₱500 to ship, the insurance fee is waived. For packages that cost above ₱500, a 1% insurance fee is levied on the declared value.

Confusing? Let’s break it down using an example:

Imagine you are sending a Large Box from NCR to Mindanao. According to the rates table above, you will be paying ₱1200. So, the insurance fee is not waived since the shipping fee is above ₱500.

Hence you will need to declare the value of the items you are shipping, and then Entrego will levy a 1% fee on the value declared.

Continuing from the example above, let’s say the value declared of the large box is ₱10,000. Then 1% of ₱10,000 is ₱100, which would be added to the shipping cost, bringing your total shipping fee to ₱1200 + ₱100 = ₱1300. Please remember that this does not include the 12% VAT.

Factors that influence Entrego Shipping fees

  • Shipping Rates Variation: Across destinations, there’s a variation in shipping rates. For instance, if the origin of the parcel is in Metro Manila, shipping within Metro Manila has lower rates compared to shipping to Visayas or Mindanao (Naturally, since these are further out).
  • Impact of Distance: The rates tend to increase as the distance from the origin (presumably a central point) increases. This reflects the additional logistics costs associated with longer distances.
  • Package Size Influence: Larger packages generally incur higher shipping costs compared to smaller ones. This is evident from the increasing rates as you move from SMALL BOX to LARGE BOX.
  • Consistency in Rates within a Destination: Within each destination, there’s consistency in rates across different package sizes. For example, in Luzon 1, regardless of the package size, the rates are relatively consistent, showing a flat trend.
  • Delivery Time and Rates: There seems to be no clear correlation between maximum delivery time and shipping rates. While longer delivery times might suggest higher logistical challenges, the rates don’t necessarily reflect this uniformly across destinations.
